WEEK 2: SEA+ SKY
“AND GOD SAID,’ LET THERE BE AN EXPANSE IN THE MIDST OF THE WATERS AND LET IT SEPARATE THE WATERS FROM THE waters.’ AND GOD MADE THE EXPANSE AND SEPARATED THE WATERS THAT WERE UNDER THE EXPANSE FROM THE WATERS THAT WERE ABOVE THE EXPANSE. AND IT WAS SO.”
God is at work in establishing order within his newly created world. We know that the sky will be filled with the birds of the air and the sea will be full of sea life. God is beginning to create a thriving habitat for his creation to live and grow in.
Isn't it exciting that we can see the fingerprint of God everywhere? He is like a master painter who begins with the broad strokes and then slowly begins to add details as the picture starts to come together. The seas and the skies are the fine details that form the atmosphere which creates a place for the future days, a foundation for trees and then eventually wildlife and then humanity.
It is so cool to know that as the master creator God does not rush His big picture. He makes everything step by step to illustrate that He isn't afraid to take each step with us. Because He likes making a way for His "new thing" to come to life in us.
GO A LITTLE DEEPER:
Why do you think we need the seas and the skies?
Why do you think God chose to create things step by step?
We have seen that God carefully thinks about everything that he creates. What are some things that you have carefully made (e.i an art project, craft, imaginative play scenario)?
